Meet our brewer, Keith Grice. Keith's many years studying and teaching Chemistry at the University of Newcastle give him an excellent understanding of the brewing process and the ability to share both his passion and his knowledge with the breweries' many visitors. Keith has lived in the Hunter Valley for over 20 years and been a fan of Hunter Beers since his first taste. He invites you to visit our brewery to share his passion and have a chat about all things beer.
At the Hunter Beer Company, we brew a unique range
of hand-crafted beers onsite. All our beers are
brewed from 100% natural ingredients with no preservatives
used. Our hops have been sourced from the best hop
growing regions worldwide, with the hop varieties
used being true to the style of the beers that we
brew. We have also begun growing our very own hops.
You are sure to find a Hunter brew that suits
your beer palate..

Hunter
Kölsch is a refreshing golden ale originating
in style from the Cathedral city of Cologne
with a biscuity-honey taste and subtle fruit
sweetness, making it the ideal beer in summer.
It is the perfect aperitif, often served as
an accompaniment to canapés. The pleasant
passionfruit and pineapple flavours are well
matched with light snacks such as salt n pepper
squid, chicken skewers and brushetta. Alcohol
content of 4.5% Alc/Vol. |

Hunter
Lager is a European style lager using a
combination of the finest malts from Australia
and Europe. Hunter Lager's malt sweetness is
nicely balanced with the cleansing herbaceous
bitterness of a mixture of European hops sourced
from Germany and the Czech Republic. Ideally
matched with spicey hot curries, juicy steaks
and burgers. Perfect match to most Thai and
Indian cuisine. Alcohol content of 4.8% Alc/Vol. |

An
American style Pale Ale using 3 different
hop varieties, Hunter Pale Ale is a unique and
refreshing beer with a fresh, citrus spicey
flavour that is balanced with biscuity-toffee
influences from the specialty malts used. With
its fruity character and robust flavour, Hunter
Pale Ale is perfect for every occasion. Rich
gamey meat dishes including duck and spicy Indian
cuisine especially compliment this beer. Alcohol
content of 5.2% Alc/Vol. |

Witbier
or White Beer is pale golden, tart, refreshing
Belgian style wheat beer that is cloudy in appearance
with a fine white head. It is a light flavoured
beer with low bitterness. One of the world's
oldest styles of beer, Hunter Witbier had classic
coriander and bitter orange peel flavours with
a clean dry finish. The crisp zing comes from
the wheat and the lovely level of carbonation,
making it the perfect summer beer. Although
the brewer might not agree Witbier can also
be served with a slice of fresh lemon to enhance
the citrus character. Terrific with lightly
spiced seafood and most Thai dished and heaven
with cheese! Alcohol content of 4.6% Alc/Vol. |

A
refreshing Ginger Beer with a crisp clean
ginger flavour. Ginger is known as a natural
relaxant, so this beer makes the ideal drink
after a hard day's work! Ginger beer is a great
accompaniment to most Asian dishes including
honey lemon chicken, Mongolian lamb and sweet
and sour pork. Pasta lovers, might like to know
that the crisp ginger flavour cuts deliciously
through creamy pasta dishes like penne bosciola
and spaghetti carbonara. Alcohol content of
4.5% Alc/Vol. |

Hunter
Bock is a dark German Lager originating
in style from the Bavarian Region of Germany
with delicious hints of caramel, roasted coffee
and chocolate. A robust beer that cries out
for hearty food and a little bit of chocolate.
Hunter Bock is the ideal drink to go with your
comfort food, so try it with roast chicken and
potatoes, slow roasted lamb shanks on creamy
mash and of course double chocolate mud cake
with lashings of king island cream. Alcohol
content of 5.5% Alc/Vol. |
According
to Keith, beer reflects a broad range of styles each
with its own flavours, and to experience their depth
and complexity is a journey of taste sensation.
Enter the Wonderful World of beer; there are no
limits to the pleasures of complementing and contrasting
beer flavours, merely the limits of our imagination.
Keith
invites beer enthusiasts to come and sample his
beer awards entries on site and enjoy a tour and
tasting of his brewery. All of the beer is brewed
daily on the premises in copper vats and served
straight to Potters Hotel bars. So come and try
before you buy!
